Government adjusts definition of disability
The federal government recently issued its final regulations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), increasing the potential number of employees who meet the legal definition of "disabled."
While not every impairment constitutes a disability, the new ADA regulations lay out requirements for a person to be defined as having a disability, according to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission website.
